Shujaatali Badami is a Quantum-IoT research engineer working at the intersection of post-quantum cryptography (PQC), industrial control systems (ICS) security, and quantum machine learning on near-term quantum hardware. His current research is in three lanes. First, hardware-agnostic quantum kernel feature mapping for anomaly detection in critical infrastructure, validated cross-testbed on IBM ibm_fez and other NISQ processors. Second, post-quantum migration of constrained IoT devices using ML-KEM and ML-DSA over EDHOC, with measured handshake budgets on Cortex-M4 class hardware. Third, multi-formalism verification methods for cyber-physical systems under ISO 21448 SOTIF.

He is an IEEE Senior Member (2024), an ISA Senior Member (2025), and a 2026 Hackathon Raptors Fellow. He has 11 published or accepted papers across IEEE Access, IEEE conference proceedings, and TechRxiv, with citations and DOIs at `/cite/`. He contributes to the ISA99 industrial automation security committee and tracks the IETF LAKE working group on PQ-EDHOC.

Recent press coverage includes Automation.com, ReversingLabs, and TechNewsWorld on the ICS PQC migration timeline. He is based in Chicago and serves on technical program committees for several IEEE conferences in the cyber-physical systems space.
